I will overwhelm 'serious fighter' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight round fight which will be broadcast live on Netflix.

Briton Anthony Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "break" his opponent as the pair met personally to build hype for next month's boxing match.

Former two time world boxing king Anthony Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, on paper, a massive mismatch - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.

Fighter's Mindset

"I plan to break his face and hurt his body. I'm here to prove my superiority," the British boxer, 35, said.

"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I intend to genuinely try to injure him. That's what I want to do."

Civil Interaction

In spite of those words, a calm Anthony Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - usually known for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.

Paul instead criticized ex Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian declined a match opportunity.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, at the same time, took aim at British opponent Fury - and rejected a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul victory.

"Jake Paul outshines Fury - he's present here," the boxer stated.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Opponent

Despite saying he intends to punish Paul, Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he said.

Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed mixed martial artists or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.

He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in last year.

Commercial Success

Still, the novice continues to be one of the sport's greatest financial successes, regularly earning massive paydays.

Forecast and Belief

The 28-year-old predicted a stoppage in rounds four or five and stated he would stop the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently in the works for 2026.

"It will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Paul said.

Size Difference

As the two fighters met for the usual face-off, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it highlighted just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how amazing it is that the bout is really happening.
